To celebrate the 20th year of Surface Pattern Design at Swansea, the course decided to have a print sale for final year graduates. We decided to have the print sale on the 20th November of 2020 and to incorporate the price to also £20.
Having two weeks to set up, design and make this event become known to the public was an eye opening experience and also very exciting. We immersed ourselves into social media platforms such as instagram and facebook to promote what we were doing. This gave us the ability to advertise to a wide range of audiences.
The print that I designed for the event was named 'Patience'. I dedicated this piece to one of my friends who was going through many difficult treatments in hospital.
This print sale encouraged me to realise this it is very doable to create prints and sell, if you advertise correctly and know your audience.
The money raised was towards our end of year show to have an amazing celebration of the work that we have created.
